About Keith

In addition to my passion for all things books and writing, I am officially, Dr. J. Keith Brown, a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and a seasoned professional magic entertainer, speaker, and author. Born and raised along the picturesque North Carolina coast, I grew up with the rhythms of the ocean shaping my outlook on life. Though I later made my home in the western part of the state, I proudly call myself a “native beachboy” and find equal joy sitting by a mountain stream as I do walking barefoot along the ocean’s shoreline.

Blending a love for faith, family, and creativity, I have spent my life inspiring others through speaking, entertainment, and writing. Whether performing magic that sparks wonder, speaking words that encourage, or writing stories that resonate, I am passionate about helping people slow down, realign, and rediscover what truly matters… and hopefully be entertained along the way.

I now also bring that same passion for life to my bookshop, The Novel Twist Mobile Bookshop, LLC.

My wife, Candace, and I, treasure time with our extended families, enjoy traveling, and stay grounded in our church community. Yet some of our favorite moments are the simple ones where we share laughter, quiet conversations, and the gift of simply being together.
