Are you an independent author?
As an independent author myself, I love supporting other independent/self-published authors and am always looking to feature unique voices and stories that my readers will love.
A Novel Twist offers consignment opportunities for independently published or small-press authors whose books fit the Mystery/Suspense & Romance/Romantasy vibe, especially those in the “cozy” category.
How It Works
- Consignment Split: The author receives 60% of the retail price from each book sold. A Novel Twist Mobile Bookshop, LLC retains 40% to cover sales tax, transaction fees, display, promotion, and profit. Most independent bookstores do either 60/40 or 70/30. The reason that I do 60/40 is due to my limited shelf space compared to a brick and mortar store.
- Display Period: Books are typically stocked for 90 days, after which unsold copies can be picked up, mailed at author expense, renewed by agreement, or donated.
- Promotion: Consignment titles may be featured on our shelves, during community pop-up events, or highlighted on our social media.
- Payments: Sales are paid out, by company check, by the 15th of the next month following any books sold in the previous month. You are free to reach out at any time for an update on performance.
Submission Guidelines
Before submitting, please make sure your book:
- Has a professional cover and is bound and ready for retail sale (no spiral-bound or draft copies).
- Includes ISBN and barcode.
- Fits the overall tone and quality of the shop’s books.

Upon Approval
If your application is approved, please print the following contract, sign, and return it with you books. This contract is required to sell your books in the shop. I also encourage you to sign the books to make them even more desirable by readers.
